Three Turns, Two Hearts, One Soul

Barrel Racing is much more than just a sport, it is a passion. It is the teamwork of a horse and rider flying through what seems to be a simple pattern in a race against an ever ticking clock. The blood, sweat, and tears of triumph and failure push you to compete again and again. There is no other experience in the world that you would wish to trade for when barrel racing is in your life.

As a barrel racer myself, there is nothing else I enjoy more than those few moments spent soaring through the arena with only three turns between start to finish. Your mind becomes completely indulged in the horse beneath you and the pattern before you. It is the most exhilarating feeling that I have ever experienced. For those of you who also barrel race, you understand exactly what I am talking about, and for the readers who do not… there are simply no amount of words that can really portray the exact feelings. Barrel racing is a sport of pain, passion, speed, and glory. Sometimes you get knocked off or things do not go quite as planned, but you climb back on and you ride like there is nothing that can catch you. Three turns of the barrels, two hearts of horse and rider, but only one soul of the team. Let me know what ya’ll think. Later Partner!
