It's A Show Thing

Showing horses is not an easy thing to do! For anyone who has ever prepared and prepped not only your horse or maybe multiple horses for the ring, but also yourself, you know perfectly well that it is a full day’s work. You must wash, scrub, brush, comb, braid, polish, and trim your horse from head to tail with painstaking effort and skill. Then, after all that work, you enter the arena to compete for the judge’s approval and critique. Life doesn’t get any better than that ya’ll! It is definitely a show thing :)

You know that you are in the show ring when:

1) … you have spent nearly all day washing and getting your horse ready, leaving only 5 minutes to clean yourself up.

2) … it is 90+ degree and you are wearing wranglers, a long sleeve shirt, and show jacket with a cowboy hat, boots, and maybe even chaps.

3) … your horse looks better in the ring than you do!

4) … you have been standing out in the arena for over 30 minutes waiting for the judge to finish placing the class.

5) … you smile even after you exit the ring because your face is now stuck that way.
